A commission I brought from Caluriri of little Oliver spending some quality time with his adopted parents, Dodger and Rita down at the pool. Tito surprise kisses his girlfriend Georgette, who is working on her tan.
Oliver, Dodger, Rita, Tito and Georgette belongs to Disney
Agreed; it's a terrible adaptation of the book, but a fun film overall~ But I meant the wholesome swimming scene.
I'd say very losesly inspired by OliverTwist. Besides its a good film, just a bit on the short side and could have used another 10 minutes to flesh out the characters more.

I just feel it made too many changes in the adaptation, and that's what really hindered the film from further success. I mean, the book is about a human boy in 1880's England, and the film is about a kitten in 1980's New York; it's about a completely different animal, in a completely different time era, in a completely different part of the world, so a lot of the book's integrity is lost right off the bat. Also, something I just recently found out, did you know that scene where Jenny finds Oliver in the limo and takes him home is supposed to based on that scene when Oliver gets blamed & taken to court for Dodger stealing that guy's pocketwatch? Sykes is also a pretty bland villain, for Disney's standards; a friend of mine watched it for the first time earlier this year, and he said he didn't even realise that Sykes was the bad guy until he kidnapped Jenny. And of course, there's the lack of the famous line "Please sir, may I have some more?", which isn't even in the film anyway. That's, like, the most famous quite of the book XD
So it's not a bad film or anything, just not as good as it could've been. And yeah, probably better if we had more time with the characters.

Is another picture of Oliver and his adopted family that has done quite well. Shows Rita's motherly side.
Yes the disney film is nothing like the victoriana book it was based on, rather than being a carbon copy I'm glad that it got to be it's own thing. We have the 1960s musical film and the more realistic and darker 2006 film for that.
I feel that sykes is one of the most scariest disney villans ever despite his screen time being around 5 minutes. The dude has mafia connections, kidnaps children and plans on killing fagin (and perhaps has killed others off screen) . And his death is epic, getting a train smashed into him.....
But that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I've already seen that one. It's a really cute scene too.
Maybe, but personally, I just think adaptations of stories should be as close to the original as possible.
He's certainly intimidating, especially at first with the foreboding entrance and the facts that he's tied to the mafia & has at least one gun with him, not to mention Roscoe and Desoto being ready to kill on command. But when you look at him more, he's just a man with a couple of dogs. There's not much else special about him I just think he pales in comparisons to the likes of Jafar, Scar, Hades, Cruella and Gaston. Maybe if we had more screen-time with him or heard some history about why he's so evil, or maybe even a song... Nah XD Though the death scene is perfect, in my eyes.
