Background/History
Will warn that there are some dark themes.
Amari's childhood was hardly normal, she barely remembers her parents. All she remembers is the blood, how it stained the while snow and shortly after The Moonsear mercenary band taking her in.
They largely left her in the care of a woman they kept along for... company. Intending to use Amari as a replacement when she grows old. However, to their surprised, Amari showed an aptitude to martial combat. Giving her a wooden practice sword as a joke and challenging her to land a blow, though she likely wouldn't have if they hadn't been inebriated.
A child managing to land a blow on a seasoned mercenary caught the attention of Namar Moonsear, the captain of the band. He chose to nurture her gift, training her and eventually inducting her into their ranks.
For a time, she saw him as something of a father as he Showed her her deserved respect. That was until her first mission.
Amari was unprepared for the sheer brutality, the loss of innocent life, and the fact that those doing this were preforming these actions. She did her best to dull it down, even begging Namar to stop, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
Eventually after one of their victories and witnessing yet another horrible aftermath, she confronted Namar telling him that she no longer wanted any part in this and that she wanted to leave. Namar was appalled that after everything he did for her, she would defy him.
The two had a brief clash, resulting in Amari's defeat against her far more experienced opponent. After that, she learned just how little he cared for her, returning her to her original intended purpose.
Amari was filled the despair by the pain her situation caused her. She grew quiet and supposedly obedient, at least that's what she showed. While the majority of the men were out of the encampment, she found some old equipment and narrowly escaped.
Nowadays, she effectively is a freelance mercenary performing jobs at an adventurer's guild.
