EDIT: The fourth panel had a BAD error in it, so I fixed it digitally. :p
Looks like the cubs are LARPing ...and what's this---seems *Mustard has wandered by. Let's see what happens!
*bears no relation to the Timmy character of the same name---I'm just bankrupt creatively.
MUBBA-TURKEY (to Mustard): "Gobble-gobble! Check out our teepee!"
MEDICINE-GENE (proudly): "We made it ourselves!"
MIGHTY-HUNTER-TASLI (to Mustard): "We're gonna use it for Pilgrims and Indians; wanna play?"
MAYFLOWER-MIMI (flirty; at Gene): "It's fun to study the natives"
MEDICINE-GENE (annoyed): "...Mubba, can we trade costumes, please?"
MUSTARD (angry; taking picture): "Never! I'll never participate in your appropriation of Native culture and bastardization of history! I'm reporting you all to Twitter right now! Consider. Yourselves. Cancelled!"
[Mustard leaves in a huff]
MUBBA-TURKEY (confused): "What's a Twitter?"
MIGHTY-HUNTER-TASLI (winking): "The happy hunting ground of bird brains---you'd fit right in!"
MAYFLOWER-MIMI: "Oh, wise medicine cat---that experience has me faint!"
MEDICINE-GENE: "Sorry, but the doctor's out of the teepee til Friday!"
And, yes, 'teepee' may be spelled with four Es (it may also be spelled as 'Tepee', Tipi', etc).
Anyway, the important thing is we got to see Tasli in a loin cloth. This may NEVER happen again, so I hope everyone enjoyed!
HYPOTHETICALWATCHER: "We might find your insipid characters attractive if you could actually draw them correctly. Also, you included a teepee, but failed to show it ...what's worse is you didn't make a TP joke. How hard could that've been!? Anyway, you're obliged to make one, so get to it!"
All right; you asked for it. ;)
So, near the start of a dirt trail at my nature park, there is (what appears to be) an unfinished teepee (I'm gonna call it a teepee because I need to so my joke will be funny): https://sta.sh/02b7rp80lnax
It's seen better days (it's been there at least a year), but lo! What's that inside!? Looks like this is a deluxe teepee---it has a bathroom, so there's TP in my teepee (teehee)! XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD: https://sta.sh/01uatzh4f50
HYPOTHETICALWATCHER: "Why, oh, why did I ask you for a joke? I deserved this, I really did"
I aim to please. ;)
Anyway ...happy Thanksgiving for those who celebrate (for myself, I'm not doing a thing today outside my routine). :3
Pencil...
The featured pencil is the 'Tepee' from American Pencil Co. The 'Tepee' was available in a variety of colors (I have red and blue), and had a sister line named 'Indian'. Because this pencil has no maker's name on it, I'm guessing it was made for wholesale to schools and so forth (not necessarily true, but possible). American Pencil Co. changed names to Venus Pencil Co. in 1956, so this pencil was made prior to the name change.
That's why America 'Disneyfied' the story. I'm American, and I do count (say) Jeremy Squirrel's story of the first Thanksgiving as mythology. That's all it is, really.

If you want to know how the American Indians were really like, the novels of Louis L'Amour say plenty. He actually knew people who lived during the days of the old Wild West, including the Indians themselves.

I 'think' I have one of his books. I'd have got from one of those leave-a-book-take-a-book boxes.
The cubs aren't trying to be anything specific; they've only an innocent, generic understanding of these things.
Mustard isn't Native, either. I suppose he'd represent these young (mostly) white people who've been taught their very existence makes them guilty of something, so they become activists and take umbrage on behalf of groups they know nothing about, or at least aren't a part of (how's THAT for appropriation?). I promise you, any Native persons who happen on this comic wouldn't think twice about it. In fact, one of my FA watchers IS part-Native, and he likes this. :3
As for "cultural appropriation", different cultures copy elements from each other all the time. We can thank Genghis Khan for spreading explosives from China to the rest of the world. And "jerrycans" originated in Germany, now every military uses them.

Leave it to Tasli to make the natives restless lol. Oh well, not like him being "cancelled" is anything new to him.
Gene and Mimi are still good for each other... they complement each other kinda like yin and yang. Mimi's going to keep trying while Gene will always find a way to quip his way out. I can see both of them eventually together once they get older. Ah, childhood flings... at least in Mimi's eyes. :3
Happy Turkeyday! Gobble Gobble Gobble.

Who knows what the future has in store for our heroes? :3
The cubs have the potential for a fun LARP: Tasli will surely hunt Mubba for Thanksgiving---does Mubba have a friend in Mimi or Gene? And what of the romantic tension between the latter? Oh so fun! XD
I'm glad you like, and thank you (the same to you, if you celebrate). :3

Mustard is based on the feral bunny who wanted to watch Timmy and Loopy mate; this Mustard is a different character (technically new, but heavily inspired).
