Robot Woman, aka Robotica, from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:614366) is a tricky doll to print. And once printed, putting the parts together can be a chore. But Robotica is about 14inches (35.5cm) tall. Some of my nieces says she's too tall for their pretend games. So I decided to try to make on that is 80% her size. That would make her about 10in (25.4cm). But to print her that small and keep the details meant upping the resolution to a finer detail. That means - long time to print based on a Squared Inverse law, and at a slower rate so the plastic is laid down evenly. A regular Robotica takes 2 days to print (about 2.5 hours per part, printing the whole day, 17 parts). Mini Robotica almost took 2 weeks, and that is because I wont print at night when I am asleep; each part took about 4 - 5 hours to print.
But in printing her parts, something happened which I am trying to figure out: Her right forearm came out smaller than it was supposed to be. Thus, her arm is broken. and a partially assembled robot is an unhappy robot. Thus she sits with Robotica #3 on my netboook, plotting revenge. They get Robotica #4 to my backup generator and begin stealing power...
If she can only wait a couple days, I can find out what happened to her arm and print out a new one and replace the defective one.
