Marfin critic : Andor, Chaos Theory, Daredevil born again...

by
- Daredevil born again : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daredevil:_Born_Again
A big surprise, as the Netflix Defenders universe, while canon, was not really touched much by the MCU outside of some references and cameos, this series is a direct follow-up. With a big budget and people who seem to really care about the universe and what was told in the Defenders shows (2nd season already said they were bringing back Jessica Jones), we get a really well written and well choreographed series. I really enjoyed the series, which really delivered on the character with really interesting stories. 4.25 barks out of 5

- Kamen rider Zero-one : https://kamenrider.fandom.com/wiki/Kamen_Rider_Zero-One
Another Kamen Rider series I was looking forward to, because the setting of a world in which cyborgs are living among humans is always a cyberpunk-related interesting setup. The main character is a bit annoying at start as a comedian, but he grew up and get more interesting at times passes. His secondary and tertiary riders are a bit underused in general (poor Valkyrie) and the bad guys are a bit weak, but the social commentary is on point, with real good discussions about AI and non-human intelligence. I had a lot of fun in general with this series. 4 barks out of 5

- Ghosts : fantômes en héritage : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghosts_:_Fant%C3%B4mes_en...
A french adaptation of the series Ghosts, the quality is really not there. The first half of the series deliver on the premises but the second half see the second half of the comedic duo Eric et Ramzy join the first half (which the male lead) and they start doing their own thing aside from the ghost thing... and that ruin it. 2 barks out of 5

- NCIS: Sydney (Season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCIS:_Sydney#Season_2_(2025)
I have watched everything NCIS related (but the non-crossover JAG episodes) and I was looking forward to the one that is actually out of the USA. The Australian aspect is always interesting, especially as a friend of Bluey, and it deliver on good stories and good acting, with taking advantage of the Australian background. The characters are ok (but not as good as some from the original show and the other spin-offs) and really quirky (a bit too much at time), so I am always eager to watch the episode and the seasons are short so it doesn't go too annoying. 3.5 barks out of 5

- Bluey's big play : https://www.bluey.tv/blueys-big-play/
I have never really watched any stage show, as the puppets are usually really creepy to me. I watched some of the Paw Patrol ones because they were on some of the episodes I watched and they were really creepy. But here the puppets are done much much better and in general, it is a normal episode with just a different medium. It was pretty cool and amusing as always with Bluey. 3.75 barks out of 5

- Young Jedi adventures (season 2) :  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars:_Young_...
They seem to have listened a bit to my complaints about the lack of character development, story progression and totally lack of actual threat as they have actually did all of this. It is still not really good, even for little kids, but at least there is some world building for the star wars fan that I am (and which is the only reason I watch this). 2,25 barks out of 5

- Andor (season 2) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andor_(TV_series)#Season_...
The first season has been a banger, setting up the birth of the rebellion from the point of view of a random guy and we continues on this trajectory. The parallels between the three different stories that combine at the end for the finale was really good, it is written so well. There is so much world building while the characters are way more human and realistic than in most series. Also, it is so full of references, expanding the Disney Star Wars with lots of good ideas from the Legends Star Wars and works on creating a better and more coherent universe. It is so nice to have such side stories but that build up on the big movies. It only made me enjoy more Rogue One which only made me love more Episode 4 (which is my favourite movie). 4.75 barks out of 5

- Wolf King : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_King
A surprise find on Netflix, I had never heard of the book series this is based on (and I do know a lot of wolf-related content) and I was really interested in this tv show. The art style is sometime really good for the story it is covering, and sometimes sound like really creepy and maybe a bit uncanny valley. The story and characters are really predictable but the world is interesting and there is a lot to the were-creatures that I am interested. It's a really classical heroic fantasy for me, but still worth it. 3,25 barks out of 5

- Jurassic world : chaos theory (season 3) : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_World:_Chaos_The...
Continuing to deliver on the premises that the last movies should have done, Chaos Theory follows the Nubar 6 in a world in which the dinosaurs have spread among modern society. While sometimes the characters are a bit grating with the way they keep going back and forth about some stuff. The world need a bit of disbelief to be suspended at times, but it works. A character from the movies is brought here, but they keep teasing you about the male lead being there but he never shows up. I did like they are bringing feathered dinosaurs in. 4 barks out of 5

- NCIS season 22 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCIS_season_22
Continuing to work with a new team without Gibbs, this season is way more on personal stories and they are somewhat up and down. They have some good stuff but sometimes it is a bit too far fetched. It is quite enjoyable (go Macgee, love you) in general and there is some interesting stories that do leave you hooked. 3.75 barks out of 5

- Magiranger : https://powerrangers.fandom.com/wiki/Mahou_Sentai_Magir...
Power Rangers Mystic force being my second favourite Power Rangers series after RPM, I was looking forward to see what the original material looked like. Sadly, it was not as cool as Mystic Force. Until then, Super Sentai has been better (or at worse, equal) if not in such a totally different range it couldn't be compared (Overdrive wasn't as good as Boukenger, RPM is too different from Go-onger they can't be compared, Gekiranger and Jungle Fury are pretty equivalent) but here, I found Mystic Force better. The story is better written, the world building is more coherent (so much of Magitopia makes no sense and is hard to fit in the general world) and sometimes the Japanese stuff doesn't work with the western style magician. It was still a pretty cool show, and I still love Wolfzard fire (I mean, a magic based wolf power rangers? What not to love?!). But magic and phones has a theme ? What's up with that ? And it's phones, the ending song says so and they aren't disguised wands like in Mystic force... 3.75 barks out of 5

-  Star wars Tales of the underworld : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Jedi_(TV_ser...
After the Jedi and the Sith, we get the third major faction of the universe in the form of the gangsters and others criminals. It's again split into three episodes about the Light side and three about the Dark Side. Here we have Ventress and Cade Bane and they give us a really different view about the life of those who lives on neither side of the conflicts. Despite being short (each episode is 15 minutes), it works really well to tell their compelling stories. There is a lot of worldbuilding there and you want to know more, to see where this go. 3.5 barks out of 5
