Big time fuck-up

So, I may have accidentally removed all my art pieces from my computer.
I was trying to free space in my OneDrive, and because I am a big ol dummy, I didn't copy the files to my external drive, and now I can't restore the freaking files. I've sent microsoft support a letter about it, and just pray that they can restore it all, otherwise the adventures of Sam n frends will be forever stored here and nowhere else.

The files are not in the cloud, they were only on the laptop for some reason, and I've tried restoring them, but nothing seems to work, so I guess unless a miracle happens, those files are gone for good, and I'll have no choice bu to start over.

Curse my non-technological ass.

that seriously sucks, I'm sorry. I'm glad you at least have the pieces here. you'll be able to save them off here if needed.

If you're feeling tech-savvy enough, you could try PhotoRec. I used this to help recover files from someone's computer that had crashed and the MBR got corrupted (probably virus / ransomeware that did that). It worked pretty well, especially since he hadn't tried to use the drive for anything else so the data didn't get overwitten.

Forgot to add that this likely won't work if the drive is encrypted.

Yeah, this is why I don't use OneDrive. It's a horribly confusing mess to work with.
